Katarina Van Derham and the Alchemy of Beauty

AUGUST 2025

Editor’s Note

There are women who perform beauty, and there are women who seem to conjure it. Katarina Van Derham has always been the latter. Model. Makeup artist. Creative force. She has walked in and out of the frame with quiet magnetism, often compared to icons like Pamela Anderson, once romantically linked to Tommy Lee, and known for her role on Entourage. Beneath the platinum veneer is a woman of depth, instinct, and discipline. A woman who works with her hands and trusts her gut. In this conversation, we step beyond the legend to ask not who she became, but who she is. Not what she wears, but what she knows.

Q: Do you know who you are? When did that knowing arrive—suddenly, or over time?

A: What a wonderful question to begin with, thank you for that. Later this year, I’ll be turning 50, and honestly, I’m beyond excited to step into the next decade. For the first time in my life, I feel like I truly know who I am, completely.

I don’t see my life as a contrast between past and present versions of myself. I’m still the same woman I was growing up, just more evolved and more experienced.

As an introvert, I’ve always been analytical, both about myself and others. Over time, I uncovered many reasons behind my patterns and behaviors, but there were still a few missing pieces. They say you often must return to your roots to find yourself, and that’s exactly what I did. After spending over 27 years away from my birthplace, returning frequently over the last couple of years took me on an emotional journey. This year, that journey arrived at a meaningful destination.

Q: What has aging revealed to you?

A: Aging has never been something I feared or even focused on. I’ve never believed in “anti-aging” creams or in fighting the natural process.

Resistance only accelerates what we resist.

Instead, I’ve always believed that we should focus on living fully, collecting experiences, creating memories, and enjoying the ride.

Q: When you look at a face, where do you begin?

A: The first thing I sense is someone’s energy. I intuitively tap into that and let it guide me. Each person is different, but my goal is always to help them feel sexy, because sexual energy is powerful.

Sexual energy is powerful. It radiates confidence and opens doors, both internally and externally.

From my experience in the beauty industry, I’ve learned that almost everyone, deep down, wants to feel sexy, men included. It’s an energy that changes everything.

Q: What do you hope women feel when they wear Glamour Garden?

A: I want them to feel empowered. Sexy. Unstoppable. That feeling should linger long after the makeup wears off, because Glamour Garden isn’t just about beauty. It’s about essence, confidence, and owning your power unapologetically.
